Ducklow Genealolgy & Wisconsin Memories
These are family stories of Thomas and Elizabeth Ducklow [Dukelow] and their many descendant children. They were immigrants from Durrus, County Cork Ireland. Their American life started in Rochester, New York in the 1841. By 1847 they became homesteaders of land in Ashippun Township, Dodge County Wisconsin. Thomas and Elizabeth [nee Nicholson] raised 14 children on their pioneer farm. If you share the Ducklow family name, and especially if you live in Wisconsin, Minnesota or Michigan, chances are that Thomas and Elizabeth are your ancesteral grandparents.
As a blog there is no particular sequence to the stories and facts published here—postings have been added where my research has taken me. You will find that some of the oldest posting are about Thomas and Elizabeth and the newest postings about their descendants. The index of keywords below may help you find a topic of interest.
I grew up in Spring Valley, Wisconsin in the 1960s and 1970s, and have lived in the Twin Cities most of my adult life. My wife Jane and I have two adult sons. Researching family history has been a past-time for the last few years.
